MONICA G. BUGAYONG, RCh practices intellectual property in the areas of patents, industrial designs and utility models. She is an expert in handling patent matters involving chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, cosmetics and other related fields. Her expertise includes drafting, preparation and prosecution of patent applications. She is also proficient in conducting patent searches, evaluation, and analysis of patent search results and preparation of expert advice on patentability, patent availability, patent validity and enforceability and infringement issues.

The long list of trainings and seminars Ms. Bugayong has had in various fields of art includes an extensive biotechnology training at the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of the St. Luke's Medical Center, Research and Biotechnology Division. She continues to attend local and foreign IP conventions and trainings to be acquainted with important IP developments. While in school, Ms. Bugayong was an active member of the Philippine Association of Chemistry Students, Inc. (PACS, Inc.) and was President of the University of the Philippines Chemical Society (UP ChemSoc). Ms. Bugayong is also a member of the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines and the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (AIPA).

Ms. Bugayong earned her degree in B.S. in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines.
