JAY-R G. ESTAVILLO, BSChE is engaged in intellectual property in the areas of patents, industrial designs and utility models. He is handling patent matters involving chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, cosmetics and other related fields. He is also proficient in conducting patent searches, evaluation of patentability issues, drafting of specification and claims, and prosecution of patent application.

Mr. Estavillo earned his degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines. He was a consistent scholar/honor student at the University of the Philippines College of Engineering. He also became the Vice President for Internal and External Affairs of the University of the Philippines Alliance of Chemical Engineering Students. In the year 2004, Mr. Estavillo earned the distinction of becoming a recipient of the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award. He is currently a member of the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Prior to joining the Law Firm of E. B. Astudillo and Associates, he worked in a confectionery manufacturing company where he gained experienced in unit operations, machines and equipment, research and development and engineering. The various trainings and seminars Mr. Estavillo had include extensive training in the production of Biodiesel from Jatropha at the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (UP BIOTECH). He continuously attends local and foreign IP conventions and trainings to be acquainted with important IP developments.
