ENRICO B. ASTUDILLO, Esq. had an extensive practice in all aspects of commercial law in the Philippines before he specialized in the practice of intellectual property law. He is an experienced commercial litigation attorney and his litigation practice encompasses all aspects of commercial relationships and commercial transactions.

Mr. Astudillo represents major multinational as well as medium-sized clients in a variety of industries in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings and litigates infringement, unfair competition, counterfeiting cases before the regular courts as well as the Intellectual Property Office (IPO). He routinely advises clients on infringement and validity issues and meticulously prepares cases for litigation. He has vast experience in all phases of trademark prosecution, including the preparation of clearance and availability opinions, as well as conducting appeals within the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and before the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

Mr. Astudillo also represents major multinational clients in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, automotive and chemical industries in patent prosecution as well as the enforcement of their patent rights in the Philippines. He has guided a major pharmaceutical client on the significant ramifications on pharmaceutical patent rights of the landmark Cheaper Medicines Act enacted in 2008 in the Philippines. He has likewise devised and monitors a continuing legal program for the client aimed at mitigating the emasculating effects of the new law on pharmaceutical patent holders rights.
